Glacier is a great place for mountain climbing especially if you are new to the sport as many of the peaks can be easily climbed without any special gear.

It is not a requirement but the park prefers you register before making any mountain climb. Weather can change quickly and a number of climbers have lost their lives due to unexpected changes in weather.

Glacier Pictures Did you know?
Many don’t realize the glaciers in the park began melting almost a hundred years ago with rapid melting from 1917 to 1926. The climate then cooled from the 1940s to 1979 and some of the Glaciers actually grew in size.
